Vol. 131 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Bog Road.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that the Kerry County Council have decided to cut turf again this year in Bawnmore bog, Listowel, County Kerry; and, if so, if he will now state if he will reconsider the application made for a grant last year to make a road into this bog for the removal of the turf produced.

I am aware that the Kerry County Council intend to cut turf this year, but I have not been informed what bogs it is proposed to use. I have received no application this year for a grant for development work on Bawnmore bog. If the council wish to have this matter further considered, it will be necessary for them to make a fresh application referable to the relevant works programmes for the current financial year.
