asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware of the need for additional houses at Willbrook, Whitechurch and Edmonstown in the Rathfarnham area; and, if so, if he will state what steps are being taken by the Dublin County Council to have the houses required provided.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Provision of Houses in County Dublin.
I understand that a need for approximately 100 houses exists in the Whitechurch (Rathfarnham) area, including the villages of Willbrook, Whitechurch and Edmondstown. To meet the need the Dublin County Council have made a compulsory purchase order for the acquisition of a site at Fairbrook, Rathfarnham, containing 7 acres for a scheme of 50 houses. A decision on the question of acquisition will be conveyed to the council at an early date. The acquisition of further land to accommodate 60 more houses in this neighbourhood is, I understand, receiving consideration by the county council.
