Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Acquisition and Division.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the Land Commission have inspected lands with a view to acquisition in the area of Lowtown, Bert and Kilberry, Athy, County Kildare; and, if so, what lands have been inspected and what decisions have been arrived at by the Land Commission in respect of the inspected lands.

The Land Commission did not inspect any lands in the townlands of Lowtown and Bert demesne, County Kildare, in recent years with a view to acquisition. In 1948 inquiries were made regarding an area of 73 acres in the townland of Kilberry and the Land Commission decided not to acquire it.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the Land Commission have inspected the Plewman lands at Glassealy, Ballintore, County Kildare; and, if so, whether it has been decided to acquire the lands for division among local uneconomic holders and landless men.

The Land Commission made inquiries regarding the estate in question and decided not to acquire it.
