asked the Minister for Agriculture if he is aware (1) that the cost of producing milk in Kerry in comparison with adjoining counties is at least £10 more per cow as rates in Kerry are approximately £2 per cow higher; (2) that the price of calves and yearlings is £2 per head less in Kerry than in those counties; (3) that there is longer winter feeding required in Kerry and the growing of root crops is £3 per cow extra and (4) that average milk yield in Kerry is £2 to £8 per cow less than in other counties; and, if so, if he will make some special arrangements for creamery milk suppliers in Kerry by which they may be assured of an economic price.
