Vol. 132 No. 2

Dundalk Gas Order—Motion of Approval.

I move:—

That the Dundalk Gas Order, 1952, proposed to be made by the Minister for Industry and Commerce and laid in draft before Dáil Éireann on the 7th day of May, 1952, under sub-section (4) of Section 10 of the Gas Regulation Act, 1920, be approved.

This motion refers to an Order which was made under the Gas Regulation Act relating to the Dundalk Gas Company. The principal purposes of the Order were to authorise the company to extend the area within which gas may be supplied, to increase the authorised capital from £30,000 to £50,000, to enable the company to borrow on mortgage any sum not exceeding £50,000 and to set aside out of the profits moneys to form a fund for the redemption of loans and mortgages and debentures and debenture stock and to make certain minor changes in the qualifications of the directors. The Order was requested by the company.

Did the Minister say that the Order was requested by the company, the actual details of the Order, not merely the principle?

It was made at their request.

Question put and agreed to.
