Vol. 132 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Transport for School Children.

asked the Minister for Education if he will state when he made representations to Córas Iompair Éireann to bring the Finglas children to school in the city while the new schools in Finglas are being built, and with what result.

Inquiries were made of Córas Iompair Éireann in this matter in March last but at that time the company was not in a position to provide extra buses for a school transport service from the Finglas area. As a result of a further approach which was made to Córas Iompair Éireann last week, I am hopeful that it will be possible to inaugurate a school bus service from Finglas to schools in the city when they reopen after the summer vacation. The matter is at present receiving active consideration in my Department.
