Vol. 132 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Kerry Water Main Extension.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he has received a communication as to the necessity for providing an extension of the water main from Muckross, Killarney, to facilitate about a dozen farmers in the vicinity of Scart Cross and to give a water supply to Loreto Convent; and, if so, whether he will state the present position in the matter.

Preliminary proposals submitted by the Killarney Urban District Council for the extension of the urban water supply to serve the Loreto Convent and 11 houses on the route of the pipeline have been approved. The work has been certified to be necessary, and the proposals have been approved subject to the consent of the county council being obtained to the execution of the work, which is outside the urban district, and to agreements being entered into by the householders concerned to connect to the main, if laid.
