Vol. 132 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Labbadish Factory Exports.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is aware that industrial alcohol is leaving Labbadish factory weekly by road for Dundalk in quantities which, if accumulated, would represent a monthly cargo from Letterkenny port; and, if so, if he will request the parties concerned to ship direct from Letterkenny and thereby give employment at the port.

I am aware that industrial alcohol produced at Labbadish factory is transported by road to St. Johnston and thence by rail to Dundalk for export.

Arrangements for the shipment of this alcohol are in the hands of the purchasers, who, I understand, considered the possibility of using other ports before deciding on Dundalk.
