Vol. 133 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Galway Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will indicate the outcome of the inquiries made by the Land Commission concerning the Roger Kelly farm at Carrowntubber, Kil-kerrin, County Galway, and if they have decided to institute proceedings for the acquisition of the farm.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will indicate the outcome of the inquiries made by the Land Commission concerning the John Cul-keen estate at Carrowntubber, Kilkerrin, County Galway, and if it has been decided to institute proceedings for the acquisition of the estate.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I will take together Questions Nos. 9 and 10. The Land Commission have not yet completed their inquiries regarding these lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the present stage of the proceedings for the acquisition by the Land Commission of the Blake estate, Corbally Cummer, County Galway, and when it is expected that division among suitable allottees will take place.

The proceedings for the acquisition of this estate have been completed, and possession of the lands has been obtained. It is not possible to state, at present, when the lands will be allotted, but there will be no avoidable delay.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the present stage of the proceedings for the acquisition by the Land Commission of the Kirwan estate, Gardenfield, Tuam, and when it is expected that division among eligible allottees will take place.

The position in this case is that an appeal has been lodged against the price fixed by the Land Commission for the lands, and is pending for hearing by the Appeal Tribunal. Pending the decision on this matter, it is not possible to state whether or when the lands are likely to become available for allotment.
