Vol. 134 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Division.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the estates which the Land Commission intend to allot to successful applicants before 31st March, 1953, and for which schemes are in course of preparation.

The time of allotment of estates depends on many factors other than the preparation of schemes so it is not possible to indicate what lands will be allotted during the remainder of the current year. I can, however, inform the Deputy that during the six months 1/4/'52—30/9/'52 (which is not the normal allotment period) the area divided was over 8,000 acres. The Deputy may rest assured that there will be no avoidable delay in the allotment of lands that are or become available.
