Vol. 134 No. 3

Order of Business.

Is it proposed to take No. 13 on the Order Paper. Private Deputies' Business will be taken at 12 o'clock.

May I ask has the Tánaiste yet had an opportunity of considering my request that time should be made available for the consideration of a number of motions which stand in my name on the Private Members' Order Paper requesting the annulment of Orders made in regard to the price of bread and flour? The motions I refer to are Nos. 23, 24, 25 and 26.

No. I have not had time to consider it. It is, of course, the normal practice to provide an opportunity for the Dáil to consider the annulment of statutory Orders. I should hope, in the interests of saving time, that some arrangement might be made to combine the discussions on these motions with the Supplies and Services Bill, which has to be passed through this session anyway. The matter will be considered within the statutory period.

May I ask when it is proposed to introduce the Supplementary Estimate for Córas Iompair Éireann so that Deputies may have notice of it in view of the closing of branch lines and the general dissatisfaction there is?

I could not say.

Will the Tánaiste say if a date has yet been fixed for the Second Reading of the Restrictive Trade Practices Bill?

No. It will be the earliest date possible. It depends on the progress of business.

Is it the intention to order it after the conclusion of the Financial Resolutions moved by the Minister for Local Government?

Yes, I should hope we would be able to order it next week. The House will appreciate that there is an amount of business for this session which has to be done in this session and that that business must, of course, get priority over other business which, however important, is not subject to a time limit.

Can the Tánaiste say when the Supplies and Services Bill will be set down?

It has not been introduced yet. It will be introduced next week. It will, of course, be a simple Bill dealing with an extension of the Supplies and Services Act for another year.

That is the danger—its simplicity.

I understand it has been arranged that on Wednesday next from 7.30 p.m. to 10.30 p.m. the matter of the Small Dwellings (Aquisition) Act will be discussed.

That is right.
