Vol. 134 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kilmore Quay (County Wexford Harbour).

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he is aware of the very unsatisfactory condition of the entrance to Kilmore Quay harbour and if he will take the necessary steps to see that the much needed improvements are carried out so that the men engaged in fishing there will be enabled to leave and enter the harbour without having to wait for long hours for suitable tidal conditions.

I am aware that the entrance to Kilmore Quay harbour is in need of dredging and the clearance of some rocks. This harbour is in charge of the Wexford County Council and my Department has urged the council to have any clearance work necessary in the fishery interest carried out.

There are no proposals from the county council.

No proposals have been received, but I understand they are considering the matter.
