Vol. 134 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Kildare Turbary.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission have acquired the turbary on the northern side of the Slate river at Ballyteague North, Robertstown, County Kildare; and, if so, whether it is proposed to make provision for turf banks there for persons who had turf banks on the Healy estate prior to the taking over of the estate by the forestry division.

The Land Commission recently acquired some turbary on the Holmes estate in this area. The claims of the persons mentioned in the second part of the question will be fully considered when the scheme for the Holmes estate is being prepared.

Will the Minister say when the scheme is likely to be prepared?

The inspectors are preparing the scheme. I cannot say at the moment, but I will see if I can give any further information to the Deputy by letter.
