asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state (a) the number of ships transferred from the Irish to the British register since January, 1939; (b) the names of the companies to which such transferred ships belonged, and (c) the number of these ships which have been retransferred to the Irish register.

44 ships and 26 yachts and other miscellaneous small craft have been transferred from the Irish to the British register between the 1st January, 1939, and the 31st October, 1952. Of the 44 larger ships so transferred 38 were owned by British citizens or companies incorporated in Britain. The particulars of these vessels are as follows:—
