Vol. 135 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ardgroom Improvement Works.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will indicate whether a grant has been sanctioned for a sea wall at the lands of William Connell, Ardgroom, and for a road to Murt Sullivan's house at Pulleen, Ardgroom.

A sea wall does not constitute a suitable employment scheme and it is not, therefore, proposed to sanction a grant in respect of it. As regards the road to Murt Sullivan's house, I would refer the Deputy to my reply to his question in this matter on the 5th June, 1952. As indicated therein the applicants were invited to submit this proposal under the rural improvements scheme but they have not yet done so.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state whether a further grant will be made available to complete the drain leading from Bun-skelligs, Ardgroom, to the lands of Cornelius Looney.

The question of the sanction of a further grant in this case will be considered in connection with future (summer) programmes of bog development works.
