Vol. 136 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Roscommon Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the Land Commission will prepare a scheme for the division of the Crofton estate in the near future.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether any investigation has been made regarding the possibility of utilising Mote Park House for purposes beneficial to the State.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to take together Questions Nos. 27 and 28.

Possession of this estate containing 706 acres was obtained recently and a scheme of allotment will be prepared in due course. The question of the disposal of Mote Park House will be considered in conjunction with the scheme of allotment.

Will the Minister ensure that no steps are taken for the demolition of this house, and that every avenue will be explored to see if it can be used for some beneficial purpose?

I cannot say. I dare say the matter will be fully considered.
