Vol. 136 No. 5

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business in the following order: No. 2, No. 7 and, in No. 7, Vote 3. In accordance with the arrangement made, public business will not be interrupted for the taking of Private Deputies' business.

Could the Tánaiste tell us now whether the House is likely to sit on Friday next?

That is the intention.

Can the Tánaiste say when it will be convenient to take No. 4?

It is only a formal matter of getting authority to print.

I will probably arrange for it to be taken to-morrow.

I suppose the decision of the Tánaiste to sit on Friday is irrevocable?

I think so.

I had a private conversation with the Chief Government Whip and I think he intimated more or less that we might have a chat about it this evening.

There is a desire to get on with the various items on the Order Paper as quickly as possible. In view of the fact that we will be running into financial business at an early date and that two days have gone this week on financial business, I think we should try now to recover some of the time.

Would the Tánaiste hold up a final decision on the matter until after we have had a chat this afternoon?

Very well.
