Committee on Finance. - Insurance Bill, 1952—Money Resolution.

I move:—

That, for the purpose of any Act of the present session to enable the Minister for Industry and Commerce to give guarantees with respect to the insurance of risks in connectionwith external trade and to amend the law relating to the carrying on of assurance business, it is expedient to authorise:—

(a) the advance out of the Central Fund or the growing produce thereof of such sums (not exceeding in the aggregate £2,000,000) as may from time to time be required to meet liabilities incurred by the Minister on foot of guarantees given under such Act;

(b) the payment out of moneys provided by the Oireachtas of such sums as may be required for the repayment of advances made from the Central Fund or the growing produce thereof;

(c) the charge upon and payment out of the Central Fund or the growing produce thereof of the principal and interest of any securities issued for the purpose of borrowing to provide for advances out of the Central Fund.
