Vol. 136 No. 14

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business on the Order Paper in the following order: Nos. 8, 9 (all Votes), 4, 10, 5, 11, 6, 12, 13, 7, 14, 15 and 16. Business to be interrupted at 10 o'clock to take Private Deputies' business.

What is the position of No. 1 on the Order Paper—the Intestates' Estates Bill, 1951?

It is hoped that legislation will be introduced in the present session.

Does that mean that the present Bill will be dropped?

It was intimated by the Minister for Justice that he was accepting the principle of the Bill but that he was dissatisfied with the terms of it and he is considering whether he would proceed by way of amending this Bill which came from the Seanad or introduce a fresh Bill. I understand he is in favour of introducing a fresh Bill.

Will it be introduced this session?
