Vol. 136 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Acquisition.

asked the Minister for Lands if any steps have been taken towards acquiring the Fergus estate at Bofeenaun, Ballina, in view of the serious congestion that exists there.

This question appears to refer to the holdings of Mr. Edward P. Fergus in the townlands of Levally and Pollawarla near Bofeenaun. Proceedings were instituted for the resumption of the holdings but a petition against resumption was upheld.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state when it is proposed to acquire the Corcoran estate at Bofeenaun, Ballina, County Mayo, for the relief of local congestion.

The Land Commission have instituted proceedings for the resumption of the lands in question. It is not possible at this stage to indicate what the outcome will be.
