Vol. 136 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fethard-on-Sea Postmistress.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if hehas any assurance from the person appointed as sub-postmistress in Fethard-on-Sea that she will reside at the sub-post office.

No such assurance has been sought. It is not essential that sub-postmasters should reside on the premises provided adequate arrangements are made for the safe custody of official cash and stocks.

Could the Minister say if there is any significance in the fact that on the transfer of this post office the work which is going on has ceased for the past week?

There is not.
