Vol. 137 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Offaly Postal Deliveries.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will state why letters posted in Dublin after 6 p.m. are delivered in Daingean, County Offaly, two days subsequently in view of the fact that, 30 years ago, a letter posted in England could be delivered at 10 a.m. in Daingean on the following day.

The mails out of which the present 7.30 a.m. delivery in Daingean is made are despatched from Dublin at 7.30 p.m. the previous night. Letters posted after 6 p.m. at the G.P.O. are too late for inclusion in this despatch.
