Vol. 137 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Estimates for Capital Services.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state in respect of (a) the original Estimates for Public Services, 1952-53, (b) the Supplementary Estimates introduced in thefinancial year 1952-53 and (c) the Estimates for Public Services, 1953-54, the particulars of each item of expenditure as accepted by him for the year 1952-53 as Capital Services according to the calculation in the 1951-52 Volume of Estimates giving the particular Vote and each sub-head in respect of which such expenditure is incurred; and if he will give a comparable summary of Capital Services in respect of (a), (b) and (c) above as was given for the year 1951-52 on page (iii) of the Volume of Estimates for that year.

Details of the provision in 1952-53 and 1953-54 for items designated as "Capital Services" in the Volume of Estimates, 1951-52, including in respect of 1952-53 the necessary adjustments for Supplementary and Revised Estimates, are set out in a statement which, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to have included in the Official Report. The statement shows that, on the basis of the 1951-52 classification, the total provision for similar services in 1953-54 is £9,366,000, approximately, as stated by me in introducing the Vote on Account.

Following is the statement:—
