Vol. 137 No. 8

Local Government Bill, 1952—From the Seanad.

The Dáil went into Committee to consider an amendment inserted by the Seanad.

I move that the Committee agree with the Seanad in the following amendment:—

SECTION 2.

In sub-section (1), line 21, before "which" the words "over which a public right of way for foot passengers, animals and vehicles exists and" inserted.

I feel that the House should have no objection to the amendment sent from the Seanad. I would like to go on record at this stage my sincere appreciation of the manner in which the Minister dealt with this Bill. His action in accepting this Bill will be appreciated by thousands of families in rural Ireland.

Can the Minister say whether this amendment follows the wording of Section 25?

Yes, I think so.

If it does there is no objection.

Amendment agreed to.
