Vol. 138 No. 1

Written Answer. - Wheat Prices.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will give an estimate of the probable average price per barrel of Irish wheat (with 20 per cent. moisture; for which the farmer receives 80/- barrel) delivered in the mill after it is dried down to 11.5 moisture content, for purposes of comparison with the price of 79/9 for Australian wheat.

Irish wheat is not dried down to a moisture content of 11.5 per cent., and I have no data on which to base an estimate of what the cost of Irish wheat would be if it were dried to this extent.
