Vol. 138 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Donegal Pension Claims.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will indicate when the Referee will next attend in County Donegal for the purpose of dealing with claims under the Military Service Pensions Acts; and if he will inform the Referee that it would facilitate applicants, financially and otherwise, if there were at least one sitting of the court in West Donegal.

It is not possible at this stage to state when the Referee will next hold sessions in County Donegal in connection with the hearing of claims under the Military Service Pensions Acts. I can assure the Deputy that in selecting the venues for sessions, the Referee takes into consideration the convenience of applicants in all cases.

Is the Minister aware that Lifford was the centre selected last time and that it is the most inaccessible position in the entire county?

I am sure the Referee and the board kept all these considerations in mind when they selected the venue.

I hope they will make better use of them than they did the last time.
