NOTES:

(1) The statement does not cover

(a) services which were wholly terminated before 1952. (Where a service was continued up to 1952 in whole or in part by incorporation in another scheme the particulars for the first year of operation of the original service have been shown);

(b) services financed in whole or in part by contributions from non-Exchequer sources (e.g., local authorities, beneficiaries, etc.), where the contributions are credited to the Exchequer as Appropriations-in-Aid or Exchequer Extra Receipts.

(2) Where only part of an officer's time has been devoted to a service this has been indicated in the numbers columns; the remuneration figures have been adjusted to include only the proportion of the officer's time devoted to the particular service.

(3) Where salary scales are payable remuneration has been taken at the mean of the scale.

A copy should also be sent to Deputy Kennedy.
