Vol. 138 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Cork Primary Schools.

asked the Minister for Education whether a proposal to erect a new school at Bealad, Rossmore, County Cork, has been approved; and, if so, if he will indicate when the work will commence.

Approval has been given for the erection of a new school to replace the present National School at Bealad, Rossmore, County Cork.

It is a matter for the Commissioners of Public Works to take steps to have the new school erected, but the commissioners will not be in a position to invite tenders until certain necessary preliminary arrangements, with which my Department and the Reverend Manager, as well as the commissioners, are concerned, have been made. These arrangements, which are being attended to, will take some time to complete. I am unable to say, at present, when the work of building the new school will be commenced.
