asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the total capital expenditure financed from Government funds (including the Local Loans Fund and the Hospitals' Trust Fund) in the years 1951-52 and 1952-53.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Capital Expenditure.
Total issues for capital purposes from Government funds, including the Exchequer and those mentioned by the Deputy, amounted to £41.2 million in 1951-52 and £36.1 million in 1952-53. The reduction in issues in 1952-53, as compared with the previous year, was due almost entirely to the fact that the Dublin Corporation obtained the bulk of its capital requirements from other sources.
