Vol. 138 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - College Boilermen's Wages.

asked the Minister for Education if he has received representations in regard to rates of wages of two boilermen employed at Coláiste Íde, Dingle, County Kerry; and, if so, if he will now state the cause of delay in granting increases to these employees as requested by their union.

Representations regarding rates of wages of the boilermen employed at Coláiste Íde, Daingean Uí Chúise and another preparatory college have been received from the Irish Transport and General Workers' Union. The claimsfor increased wages made on behalf of these employees could not be considered pending a decision on the question of increased remuneration for State-paid employees generally.

I am arranging that the matter will now be given attention.
