Vol. 138 No. 14

Written Answers. - County Dublin National School.

asked the Minister for Education if he will make a statement regarding the delay in commencing the building of a national school at St. Margaret's, County Dublin, on a site already approved, and if he will indicate what the present position is and when the work is likely to begin.

The reverend manager has offered a site for a new school to replace the present national school at St. Margaret's, County Dublin and the Commissioners of Public Works have now advised the Department that the proposed site is suitable.

The Department is communicating with the reverend manager in regard to certain preliminary arrangements which require to be made before a grant may be sanctioned towards the cost of the new school. These arrangements will necessarily take a considerable time to complete. I am unable to say, at present, when the work of erecting the school is likely to be commenced.
