Vol. 139 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answer. - Gárda Supervision at Seaside Resorts.

asked the Minister for Justice whether he is aware of the need for increased Gárda supervision during the summer week-ends, owing to increasing popularity, of Portmarnock, Malahide and other seaside resorts in North County Dublin; and, if so, if he will state whether suitable steps will be taken to remedy difficulties mentioned to the Gárda Commissioner by the Portmarnock development association.

The best possible arrangements for the policing of seaside resorts in North County Dublin during the summer have been made by the Commissioner of the Gárda Síochána but, as the Deputy knows, the Commissioner is handicapped by a shortage of man power.
