It is not possible to give the precise information requested by the Deputy since the particulars are brought to account according to the headings of the official export list which does not separately distinguish hens. I propose, however, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle to circulate in the Official Report a statement showing the quantity, value and average price f.o.b. per lb. of the exports to Britain of dead poultry— old fowl—in each of the months September, 1952, to April, 1953, inclusive. The corresponding information for May, 1953, is not yet available.
