asked the Minister for Health whether he has received proposals from the Grangegorman Mental Hospital authorities concerning the rates of wages of agricultural workers employed at Portrane Mental Hospital; and, if so, if he will state the nature of such proposals.

I have received a communication from the mental hospital authority concerning an application made on behalf of the agricultural workers employed by the authority for increases in remuneration totalling 7/6 a week as follows:—
(i) 5/- a week as from the 23rd August, 1952,
(ii) 2/6 a week as from the 20th April, 1953.
