Vol. 140 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Army—Married Personnel.

Mr. A. Byrne

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state the number of married men in the Army stationed away from home, and if he will take steps to ensure that married soldiers will be stationed in their home town or district.

At the present time, a total of approximately 250 married soldiers, or 8 per cent. of the total number of married soldiers on the strength of the forces, are stationed away from home.

Every effort is made to facilitate married soldiers in having them stationed in or near the location of their homes or to have the families provided with quarters at the soldiers' stations.
