Vol. 141 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dual Pricing System in Britain.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the raw materials such as coal, steel and iron in respect of which a dual pricing system is maintained by Britain to the disadvantage of this country and the amount of the differential export price in respect of each such commodity.

I would refer the Deputy to the reply which I gave to a similar question on 13th February, 1952. From the information which is available, no substantial changes appear to have since occurred in the position generally. With regard to coal, however, the differential between British home prices and those for export to Ireland now appears to be about 20/- a ton.
