Vol. 141 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Taxpayers' Liability.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will consider introducing proposals for legislation to ensure that a taxpayer domiciled in this country with an income from a trade or business carried on outside Ireland and Britain will only be liable to Irish income-tax and surtax on such portions of his profits as were remitted here.

As I have already indicated to the Deputy in my correspondence with him, I regret to have to state, that, after considering the arguments for and against the proposals, I do not feel able to recommend legislation.
