Dáil Vacancy—Issue of Writ.

I move:—

Go n-ordóidh an Ceann Comhairle do Chléireach na Dála a rit a chur

in regard to workmen's compensation and that might not have to be rushed if we had a number of those token Estimates.

amach chun comhalta a thoghadh chun an folúntas a líonadh a tharla i gcomhaltas na Dála seo de dheasca an Teachta Proinsias Ó Fathaigh, comhalta do dháilcheantar contae na Gaillimhe Theas, d'fháil bháis.

That the Ceann Comhairle direct the Clerk of the Dáil to issue his writ for the election of a member to fill the vacancy which has occurred in the membership of the present Dáil consequent on the death of Deputy Frank Fahy, a member for the county constituency of South Galway.

Agreed, and ordered accordingly.

You will not be calling for a general election after that.

We will, indeed. You are terrified of a general election. That is why you want to adjourn.

There are plenty of nice good stone walls on which we can stand.
