Vol. 142 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Office of Parliamentary Secretary to the Government.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state if a full report will be published for the information of the general public of the fact finding inquiries carried out by the office of the Parliamentary Secretary to the Government since the establishment of such office; and, further, the total cost to date of this office and the number of indoor officials and outdoor inspectors on this work.

I would invite the Deputy's attention to the reply given to a similar question in this House on the 3rd December last in which it was stated that it is not proposed to publish any such report;and in which it was pointed out that an opportunity for a periodic review of the activities of my office is, of course, available on the occasion of the annual debate in this House on the Estimate for that office.

The total cost of the office from date of establishment to 30th September, 1953, was £12,187 14s. 8d.

The number of indoor officials is seven. There are no outdoor inspectors.
