Vol. 142 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Industrial Alcohol.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether the foreign market for industrial alcohol is still available; and, if so, when the Carrickmacross industrial alcohol distillery will resume operations.

Apart from a balance of alcohol due under contract, the foreign market for industrial alcohol is no longer available. I am informed that there is at present a strike at the alcohol factories and I am unable to say when the Carrickmacross distillery will resume operations.

Could the Minister indicate what use it is proposed tomake of the alcohol if the foreign market has ceased to exist?

I would prefer to have notice of that.
