Vol. 142 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Project Scheme (Wexford).

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state how many men were employed on the land project scheme in County Wexford for the years 1950, 1951 and 1952, and how many are employed at present.

There are men employed on the land reclamation scheme by farmers and contractors as well as by my Department. As there are no figures available in my Department ofthe numbers of men employed under the former two categories I regret it is impossible to give the information asked for by the Deputy.

Are we to conclude that operations under the land project have slowed up and that fewer are employed on the land project now than when we left office?

There is nothing in the reply from which the Deputy can make that deduction.

No, but there is in the facts.
