Vol. 142 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Radio Reception in Droichead Nua.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware that there are many complaints about the bad reception of Radio Éireann programmes in the Droichead Nua area, County Kildare; and, if so, if he will state what steps he proposes to take to avoid interference with reception there.

Only one complaint of interference in the Droichead Nua area was received during 1953. This complaint was received in May, 1953, and it was discovered that an old battery charger and an electric drill were responsible. The electric drill was suppressed and a promise was given that the battery charger would not be used again.

If the Deputy can supply particulars of interference over any area in the town, I shall have the matter investigated.
