Vol. 142 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Appointment of Consuls.

asked the Minister for External Affairs if he will give sympathetic consideration to the question of the appointment of Consuls or other official representatives in British cities such as Birmingham and Coventry where there are large Irish populations; such Consuls or representatives to be in charge of small offices, and besides being available for the assistance of our nationals, to attend to maters of trade, tourism, etc.

It is not proposed to establish Irish Consulates in the principal British cities.
