Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Revenue of Local Authorities.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the rates revenue of local authorities in the year 1952-53 and the total amount received by them from all State sources.

In the year 1952-53 the estimated revenue received by local authorities from rates, exclusive of increases in rents of certain smalldwellings, was £13,450,000 and from State sources, £17,000,000. The latter figure does not include State assistance for vocational education committees and committees of agriculture or for harbour authorities.
