Vol. 142 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Imports from Russia and Other Countries.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state for each year from 1948 to 1952, inclusive, and for 1953 to the latest available date the total value of imports of (a) timber and (b) all goods from the U.S.S.R. and each other Iron Curtain country, and whether these imports were subject to any Government control.

As the information required at (a) and (b) of the question is in the form of tabular statements, I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to have the statements circulated with the Official Report. The statements include particulars of import controls on certain commodities, in addition to the foreign exchange regulations administered by the Minister for Finance.
