asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the total grants allocated for minor employment schemes for each of the financial years ending 31st March, 1949, 1950, 1951, 1952, 1953 and 1954, for each of the rural districts of Killarney, Kenmare and Cahirciveen.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Minor Employment Schemes.
The grants allocated for minor employment schemes necessarily bear a relation to the number of unemployment assistance recipients in the relative areas, and as the number of such persons in the three rural districts referred to by the Deputy has fallen in recent years the amounts of the grants for these areas have also been reduced.
As the reply is in the form of a tabular statement I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to have it circulated with the Official Report. The information is as follows:—
MINOR EMPLOYMENT SCHEMES
Grants allocated for each of the Rural Districts of Cahirciveen, Kenmare and Killarney, Co. Kerry, for the period 1948/49 to 1953/54 (inclusive).
