Vol. 143 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Claims for Pension Bonuses.

asked the Minister for Finance if he has received a letter from the Civil Service Pensioners' Association, the Pensioned Teachers' Association, and the Local AuthoritiesRetired Officers' Association requesting him to make payments of special bonuses to compensate for the depreciation in the purchasing power of money which has occurred since their superannuation allowances were originally fixed; if he has considered the terms of this letter, and if he proposes to grant these bonuses.

I have received and considered the letter mentioned. In answer to the second part of the question I would refer the Deputy to my replies to similar questions asked by Deputy Norton on the 19th May and 5th August, 1953.
