Vol. 143 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Removal and Destruction of Poppy Wreaths.

asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware that poppy wreaths laid on certain cenotaphs were removed and destroyed, and that in one case this act was condemned by a city corporation; and, if so, if he will state (1) what action has been taken to bring the culprits to justice, (2) whether any arrests have been made, and (3) whatfurther action was taken by the Gardaí in the areas.

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. Investigations have been carried out by the Gardaí, and are continuing, with a view to bringing the offenders to justice. So far, no arrests have been made.
