The figures required are as follows:—1951—312 hours or 11 per cent. 1952—371 hours or 13 per cent. January to October, 1953—509 hours or 19 per cent.
The same amount of time was available at midday in 1951 as in 1953, but it was not fully availed of.
A great part of the increase is due to the introduction of morning programmes.
