Vol. 143 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Gift Chickens.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if a person desiring to send a gift to relatives in Great Britain of a pair of chickens during the period from the 1st to the 24th December next will be permitted to do so without obtaining a licence or permit from his Department in the same way as exporters of turkeys are so permitted under the turkey gift Order.

The gifts of poultry which it is permissible to export without an export licence or permit under the provisions of the Regulation of Export (Christmas Season Exemption) Order, 1953, were fully set out in the official advertisement which appeared in the daily newspapers of the 17th November. I would refer the Deputy to the terms of that advertisement.
